The Hawaiian shirt became an icon in the late 30s, in Hawaii, of course, probably born from Japanese hands that used fabric from the classic Japanese kimono to make men's shirts.

At Casa Tigre we all love Hawaiian shirts and after some discussion we thought of making one that could be taken to the beach or used on a Rock’n’Roll night out (and eventually also used on the beach at dawn, come on, we’ve all done it…).

Our dear Douglas Cardoso was responsible for the design of the shirt, made with love in Portugal, and these Tigers have a beautiful story.

After Douglas got rid of a collection of old stamps he found in the Trash, he unintentionally forgot some that were lying around in the middle of his painting materials, stencils and other old stuff he was organising on that one random day.

Coincidentally or not, that day he was looking for tiger references and in the midst of the confusion an envelope that read “Big Cats” fell at his feet, as if part of that collection had not wanted to abandon him and had come back to him. Inside the envelope were, of course, old stamps of… TIGERS.

Douglas felt the duty to honor these old re-found stamps, designing under their influence the  proposal of stampings/embossing/prints and patterns for this summer of 2022.

It is important to say that no two shirts are the same, of course.

TIGRES.
